World Photography Day 2026: The Power of Photojournalism

This World Photography Day, VIBGYOR Photography is dedicating its platform to the raw, unposed truth. In an era increasingly defined by digital manipulation, we are proud to announce Photojournalism as our central theme for 2026.

Our vision is to celebrate the visual storytellers who look beyond the staged to capture the authentic pulse of India. A camera is not just a tool for creating art; it is a vital instrument for recording history, driving social awareness, and preserving our collective memory.

The 2026 celebration encompasses three major initiatives:

• The National Photojournalism Contest: A free-to-enter, nationwide competition inviting photographers to submit their best documentary work across four critical themes: Daily Life, Cultural Chronicles, Environment & Urban Shift, and Human Interest.
